North Las Vegas is not only one of Nevada’s fastest growing cities, it is also one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. The U.S. Census Bureau named North Las Vegas the second-fastest-growing large city in America in the decade from 1990-2000. Completely separate from neighboring Las Vegas, the City of North Las Vegas has approximately 138,000 residents with over 1,000 new residents moving in each month. Estimates put the population of North Las Vegas at well over 500,000 by the year 2020.

Known as Your Community of Choice, the City of North Las Vegas was incorporated in 1946 and is located in Clark County in Southern Nevada. North Las Vegas encompasses more than 78 square miles and stretches across the northern rim of the Las Vegas Valley. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and at the intersection of the Great Basin, and the Mojave and the Sonoran Deserts, North Las Vegas offers recreational opportunities, cultural activities and the glamour of the nearby Las Vegas Strip. There are a variety of golf courses in the Valley and nearby Mt. Charleston is a wonderful place to camp, hike and ski in the winter. Lake Mead National Recreation Area offers camping, swimming, fishing, boating and water skiing. Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area has excellent hiking and mountain biking trails, and picnic areas. Indian ruins and petroglyphs are often visible along the miles of trails that meander across the Valley floor and into the hills and mountains. North Las Vegas has 28 parks offering walking paths, playgrounds, picnic area, ball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, a swimming pool, shuffleboard, racquetball, a gym, track and field facilities and volleyball courts. The Neighborhood Recreation Center sponsors year round activities for all ages, classes and events including Movies in the Park, Taste & Tunes, concerts and a 10K run. Children attend schools in the highly acclaimed Clark County School District. Two communities colleges and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas are minutes away.

North Las Vegas is only 15 minutes from the hotels and casinos of the Las Vegas Strip and 25 minutes from McCarran International Airport, 5 minutes from North Las Vegas Airport - 10 minutes from downtown Las Vegas. Experts have predicted a 200% increase in the value of North Las Vegas real estate between January 1, 2000 and December 31, 2008.
